General

Concentration is a class skill for Bards, Clerics, Monks, Paladins, Rangers, Sorcerers and Wizards. Its key ability is Constitution.

Functionality

The concentration skill allows a spellcaster to cast spells even while under attack. When a spellcaster is hit during the process of casting a spell, a concentration check (1d20 + concentration modifier) is rolled against a target DC (10 + damage dealt + level of spell being cast). If the check exceeds or matches the DC, the spellcasting continues. If the check fails to match the DC, the spell is interrupted.

For Monks: It determines your starting Ki on entering a dungeon, your Ki recovered by a rest shrine, and MOST importantly, determines the "Minimum Store" of Ki you can hold as you replenish it while doing battle.
