General
Bluff is a class skill for Bards, Rogues and Sorcerers. Its key ability is Charisma.
Functionality
Allows you to bluff certain NPCs or make a monster vulnerable to a sneak attack for a few seconds.
After a one second pause for disruption of bluff, if a successful roll it draws the attention of the selected target and grants a sneak attack for a few seconds. This can be done with out taking you out of sneak mode. You only need to have them targeted you don't need to have line of site. They will "aggro" towards you but not alert others around them like normal to chase after you as long as it's out of their view.
This is a very good ambush skill to pick enemies off one by one, rather than taking them all on at once and be overwhelmed or in solo. This skill will not work on animals, vermin, undead or other creatures with low intelligence.
TIP: Another good trick is when you have an overwhelming melee (non-casting) boss. Lure him out with a bluff while in stealth mode, away from view of his lackeys. Then he will try to attack you but as long as you keep moving he won’t swing towards you but where you were. At this point switch to a ranged or repeater crossbow and keep moving around and shooting.
You will go with out a scratch and be surprised how well this works when you're alone.
The bluff skill is also used in certain conversations, allowing additional conversation paths.
Note: Each unsuccessful bluff attempt on a target lowers your chances at the next roll to work.
