Shroud Part 3

When you step into part 3 of the shroud, you will be sent to one of 11 puzzle rooms. Each room will have a grid of buttons you can turn on or off. Stepping on one light will cause all the lights against to it to toggle on or off. There are 2 5x5 puzzles, 2 4x4 puzzles, 6 3x3 puzzles and 1 circular puzzle.

Solving the Puzzles

No matter what puzzle you enter, you start solving the puzzle the same way. Start by lighting all the lights in the very top row. To do this, step on the light right below each light that is turned off. For example: Row 1 (on, off, on, off, off) hit buttons 2, 4, and 5 in row 2. Do this for each row until you reach the bottom. In each 4x4 puzzle, your puzzle will be solved every time at this point. In the other 3 types of puzzles, you will have one more step until you are solved.

Finishing the 3x3

In the 3x3 puzzle, there is a chance there will be a few lights left off after you chase down the lights. Based off the lights that are off in the bottom row, you will hit a certain combination of lights on the top row. Once you have hit all the lights that need hit on the top row, you will chase the lights down again until all the lights are lit. If all the lights are lit, then you hit the right combination and you have solved the puzzle. If you have lights lift over, then you hit the wrong combination.

The following chart has a list of all the possible combinations that you should see in a 3x3 puzzle after you chase down the lights. The black dots are considered off.

Finishing the 5x5

Same deal here as the 3x3, you're only dealing with a larger puzzle.

Circle Puzzle

The circle puzzle is solved almost the same way as the square puzzles. Turn on all the lights moving down to the bottom. Once you are at the bottom, you have one of 3 options. You will have one light off, two lights off, or your puzzle is solved. If you have one light off, hit the same light on the opposite side and solve down again. If you have two lights, hit both lights on the opposite wall and solve down. It's as simple as that!

Six Pattern Technique

Once you know how to 'solve down', remember six simple patterns (or print out the cheat sheet) and solve any and all of the puzzles.
