Description: KotSD is made up of IRL (In Real Life) friends, relatives, and new friends we have met though DDO. We go though quests and dungeons for the fun of it, not for the loot and EXP only. [edit] Knights of the Silver Dragon

[edit] History

The Knights of the Silver Dragon[1] was founded by Izzy during the beta testing period in Febuary 2007. Since it's inception, the Knights have had a small but active presence on the Thelanis server. Many of the current Knights know each other in real life, are friends, relatives, or developed real life friendships through their affiliation with the guild.

[edit] Philosophy

The Knights of the Silver Dragon exist to have fun! This is a game and we treat it as such. We all come from different backgrounds and have different schedules and levels of play, but we share a common trait: We like each other and we enjoy each other's company. One of the best facets of our guild is that we play for love of the game.

-Size & Roles-
We are also a small guild and we like it that way. We prefer the close knit relationships a small guild brings and we have a higher tolerance for each other's play style than larger guilds do. We try not to pigeon hole characters into harshly defined roles (i.e. intimitank, healbot, dps an such) if they desire to experiment with unconventional builds.

-Game Pace-
The majority of our quest are somewhat slower than most, but tend to be more thorough. We rarely zerg a quest and never on guild night (see schedule below). We really enjoy the magic of completing a quest for the first time without spoilers. We do occasionally use maps and published walk-throughs but only after we've tried it a few times without help.

-Planning-
As a general rule, we use email in the days preceding a guild night to plan/consult and/or brainstorm what we want to attempt on guild night and solicit input for the night's event. We also solicit volunteers to lead. Once online, we generally use either the built in DDO voice features, or X-fire, to communicate with each other. We are a voice centric guild and use text as a secondary means of communication.

-Participation-
Play as much or as little as you want. A few of our more active players can be found online every day for ad hoc questing but this level of participation is not required. Many of our less active players only participate on guild nights and only when their schedule permits. We are a casual guild and we understand real life comes first.

[edit] Schedule

We have designated Thursday evenings at 8:30pm Eastern for guild night. We also group together on an ad-hoc basis on other nights of the week and we occasionaly alter, postpone or cancel a given guild night for holidays and such. On rare occasions we will plan a guild event outside of our regular Thursday night game.
