Barbarians possess incredible strength and offensive power. They are not as well armored as fighters, but they can absorb damage and go into a battle rage to overwhelm their enemies.

Solo Ability: Good.

Important stats:

Strength is the most important stat for barbarians. High strength boosts a barbarian's ability to hit enemies and increases the damage dealt with each attack.

Constitution is good for barbarians who want more hit points, and dexterity is good for barbarians who want increased defense.

Notable ability: Rage.

Barbarians are the beasts of the battlefield. Often using huge two-handed weapons or two weapons at once, they can deal immense amounts of melee damage.

By tapping into the raw fury of nature, barbarians can enter a battle rage that boosts their fighting ability to extreme levels, but they need to recover afterwards.

Barbarians also have the ability to shrug off or absorb some incoming physical attacks without taking damage. This is called damage reduction (DR) and can help make up for their lack of heavy armor.

Intimidate Allows you to intimidate certain NPCs and to draw the attention of monsters. You get a bonus when intimidating creatures smaller than you and a penalty when intimidating creatures that are larger than you.
Jump Allows you to jump higher.
Listen Allows you to hear enemies that are trying to move silently as well as subtle noises which others may not hear.
Swim Allows you to swim faster and hold your breath for a longer period of time when underwater.

1 Attack Your basic attack. When activated, you will continue attacking until your target is defeated.
1 Defensive Fighting While using Defensive Fighting mode, you trade attack bonus for a small AC bonus. Casting a spell ends this mode.
1 Dismiss Rage Activate this barbarian ability to prematurely end your rage.
1 Fast Movement A barbarian can run 10% faster than normal.
1 Heroic Durability Increases your maximum hit points by 20.
1 Light Armor Proficiency You are proficient with light armor, and do not suffer armor penalties to your attack rolls when wearing light armor.
1 Martial Weapon Proficiency You do not suffer an attack penalty for martial weapons.
1 Medium Armor Proficiency You are proficient with medium armor, and do not suffer armor penalties to your attack rolls when wearing medium armor.
1 Rage Activate this barbarian ability to enter a bloodthirsty frenzy, granting you a +4 bonus to Strength and Constitution, a +2 Morale bonus to Will saves, and a -2 penalty to AC. When the rage ends, however, you will lose the hit points granted to you by increased Constitution and become fatigued. Your rage will last for 30 seconds plus an additional amount of time based on your Constitution.
1 Shield Proficiency (General) You are proficient with bucklers, small, and large shields.
1 Simple Weapon Proficiency You do not suffer an attack penalty for simple weapons.
1 Sneak Uses your Move Silently and Hide in Shadows skills to stealth through dungeons.
1 Sunder Using this attack, you may reduce the target's Armor Class by 4 for a short time. Some creatures may be immune to the sunder effect. A successful Fortitude save negates this effect. (DC 10 + Str mod)
1 Trip Using this attack, you may trip the target, rendering it prone. Some creatures may be immune to this effect. A successful Balance check negates this effect. (DC 10 + Str mod)
2 Damage Reduction A barbarian can resist physical damage, shrugging off a 1 point of damage from each physical attack. This increases by 1 point at 5th level and every three barbarian levels thereafter.
2 Uncanny Dodge Activate this barbarian ability to gain a temporary +4 Dodge bonus to your AC and a +4 bonus to your Reflex saves.
3 Trap Sense Barbarians receive a +1 bonus to saves against traps. This bonus increases by +1 every three barbarian levels thereafter.
5 Improved Uncanny Dodge Activate this barbarian ability to gain a temporary +6 Dodge bonus to your AC and a +6 bonus to your Reflex saves. In addition, monsters attacking you from behind don't receive a flanking bonus.
6 Trap Sense Barbarians receive a +1 bonus to saves against traps. This bonus increases by +1 every three barbarian levels thereafter.
9 Trap Sense Barbarians receive a +1 bonus to saves against traps. This bonus increases by +1 every three barbarian levels thereafter.
11 Greater Rage A barbarian's rage grows stronger after reaching 11th level, granting a +6 bonus to Strength and Constitution and a +3 morale bonus to Will saves. The penalty to AC remains at -2.
12 Trap Sense Barbarians receive a +1 bonus to saves against traps. This bonus increases by +1 every three barbarian levels thereafter.
14 Indomitable Will While in a rage, the barbarian receives a +4 bonus to Will saves against enchantment spells. This bonus stacks with all modifiers.
15 Trap Sense Barbarians receive a +1 bonus to saves against traps. This bonus increases by +1 every three barbarian levels thereafter.
17 Tireless Rage Upon reaching level 17, a barbarian is no longer fatigued after raging.
18 Trap Sense Barbarians receive a +1 bonus to saves against traps. This bonus increases by +1 every three barbarian levels thereafter.
20 Mighty Rage Upon reaching level 20, a barbarian's rage grows stronger. When raging, your base bonus to Strength and Constitution are increased to +8 and your morale bonus to Will saves is increased to +4.

Alignment Restriction

Barbarians may not be Lawful. Newly-created Barbarians must pick a legal alignment. Existing characters who don't meet this restriction may not multiclass into Barbarian.
