DDO:Eberron Unlimited Account Types
With the launch of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited the game now supports a Free to Play model. With this change all existing subscribers accounts are now considered VIP, former subscriber's accounts are considered Premium, and new player's are considered Free. The chart below should help clarify the differences between the different account types, and answer some questions players may have about the system. Links to some developer/community representative posts are included below for some further reading.
How to change your account type
- To become a Free player, make a new account. It's that simple!
- To become a VIP, simply subscribe to the game like in the past.
- To become a Premium player:
- If you are a free player, you must purchase a point package in the Turbine Store.
- If you are a VIP, cancel your subscription.

Questions & Answers
Q: I see you list some things as "favor unlocked", which things in particular?
A: Right now Favored Soul and Drow are unlocked with account favor on each server individually. If bought in the Turbine Store they are unlocked on all servers.
Q: What races and classes are not considered basic?
A: The Monk and Warforged races are not basic and must be bought by Premium and Free accounts.
Q: I see different character slots listed as base amounts. What do you mean exactly?
A: Each account receives a base number of character slots plus any additional bought character slots to a maximum of 30 per server. What this means is the if you are a VIP subscriber and buy 5 more character slots, and then downgrade your account to Premium you will have a total of 9 character slots ( 4 base + 5 bought). If you have more characters than your current cap, upon your next login you will be asked to choose which characters you wish to access.
Q: Is there a maximum number of character slots per account?
A: Yes, the maximum number of characters per server obtainable is 30. This includes any base amount you get from your account type plus any additional slots you bought in the store.
Q: If I downgraded from a VIP to a Premium account, what happens to the account options I purchased in the store?
A: You still own them! They will always be tied to your account so you will not lose access to them. With that said, you will need to purchase additional content from the store that you used to get for free as a VIP such as Monks, Warforged, Certain Adventures and Areas, and possibly additional character slots.
Q: What quests/adventure areas are accessible to free/premium players?
